What happens when the order is smaller or larger?
Amazon deducts the eligible purchase and leaves the unused value in the same Amazon.co.uk account. An illustrative GBP 35 purchase from GBP 50 leaves GBP 15.
Amazon applies the gift-card value and requires another accepted payment method for the remainder. An illustrative GBP 65 purchase with GBP 50 balance leaves GBP 15 to pay another way.

What the UK balance cannot do
- It cannot buy another gift card.
- It cannot be reloaded.
- It cannot be redeemed for cash.
- It cannot be transferred for value.
- An unused balance cannot be moved to another Amazon.co.uk account.
- An Amazon.co.uk card cannot be redeemed on the other Amazon country sites named in the UK terms.
Redeem the card only after confirming the recipient’s Amazon.co.uk account. A mistaken account choice cannot be treated as a transferable wallet balance.
How long the balance lasts
Amazon.co.uk states that gift cards and unused gift-card balances expire ten years after issuance. The relevant anchor is issuance, not the date of the latest purchase. Amazon also states that no gift-card fees apply.
