Gift Card Face Value, Display Currency and Crypto Invoice Explained
The answer: the face value is what the recipient redeems, the display currency is a planning estimate, and the crypto invoice is the exact transfer request. Changing one does not convert the other two into the same kind of value.
A worked Amazon.co.uk example
- Select the product valueChoose the United Kingdom market and GBP 50. The gift card remains a GBP 50 Amazon.co.uk card.
- Read the visitor estimateSuppose the interface showed EUR 59.00 for comparison. That number is illustrative only: it is not a live exchange rate, a promise of price or the amount to send.
- Create the payment requestAfter a supported crypto/network pair is chosen, checkout supplies one exact asset amount for 60 minutes. An example such as 0.001234 BTC is illustrative only and must never replace the current invoice amount.
- Pay the invoice as issuedSend the exact asset on the named network. The wallet or network fee is separate from Giftoshi’s service fee, which is zero until February 2027.

Redemption is a separate merchant decision
Amazon.co.uk leaves unused value in the account and permits another accepted payment method when the balance is short. Those rules apply after redemption; they do not change the face value, display estimate or crypto invoice explained here.
Questions buyers ask
Does changing the display currency change the card?
No. A GBP 50 card remains GBP 50 even if the interface shows an estimate in EUR, USD or another display currency.
Which crypto amount should I send?
Only the exact amount on the current payment request, using its named asset and network. Examples in this guide are not payable quotes.
What should I do if the 60-minute request expires?
Create a current payment request rather than sending an old amount. Exchange-rate movement before a new request may change the crypto total.
