Can You Use a US Starbucks Gift Card Abroad?

Where the US agreement says the card may be used
North America
Canada and Mexico are named, alongside US acceptance at participating stores. Starbucks also says most North American locations, including Puerto Rico, accept the card.
United Kingdom and Ireland
England, Scotland, Wales, the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland are named. The agreement’s wording should not be expanded to every European country.
Australia
Australia is explicitly listed as a destination for a US-purchased Starbucks Card.
Everywhere else
Treat support as unconfirmed unless the current Starbucks agreement names the destination and a participating store accepts the card.
The balance keeps a US base currency
When the card is used in a participating foreign store, Starbucks says it converts the transaction from the store’s local currency into the card’s US base currency. Starbucks states that it does not charge the card a currency-conversion fee.
This brand conversion happens when Starbucks deducts the purchase. It is different from changing the display currency on Giftoshi, which only changes a storefront estimate while the selected card remains the US/USD product.

Check the individual store before the visit

That check is more useful than assuming every licensed counter participates. The US agreement also says the Starbucks Card and stored value do not expire and that Starbucks charges no activation, service, dormancy or inactivity fee for the card.
